This was my first run for the week. It was tough to get started…and to keep going. I had to walk a couple of times. I think that might be cus it already getting warm. I need to get used the warm mornings. Work shouldn’t be as busy this week, so I’ll be able to get up and run in the mornings.

Easy Cardo

I have been so busy at work this week…going in early and staying late. I really haven’t made the time to workout. It was a little to humid to run in the morning, so I stayed inside and did a cardo workout with Wii Fit. I guess I wasn’t too quiet. The rest of the family was up by the time I finished. Once I was done, my daughter and husband each did a workout. Great family fun!

Progress

I’ve lost 6 lbs since I started keeping this blog. People are starting to ask me if I’ve lost weight. I love that! I don’t see it yet, but who am I to argue? LOL My clothes are getting lose and some look better. I need to keep reminding myself successful weight lose is a marathon, not a sprint.

Short Ride

My daughter and I decided to take a short ride to my parents’ house. They only live 1.25 miles across town. We connect the trailer and she hopped in to enjoy the ride. Those trailers get heavy with an added 39 lbs inside. We hung out for awhile and loaded up for the trip home.

Dang Pizza

What did I say the other day about not being able to run well after eating pizza for dinner? I guess I didn’t believe it and had to prove it to myself again….but the pizza was so good.

Anyway, I hadn’t planned to run Sunday morning. I woke up and was motivated. It was an awesome feeling. I actually wanted to run. Once I was out there, though, I felt like poop. I kept going, but it didn’t feel awesome anymore. I am glad I went….and my shrinking waist is glad, too.

Mom & Daughter Day

So, my husband was out town Saturday morning…the morning I like to try to do a longer run. I had to come up with a Plan B to get some kind of running done with my 5 year old.

Plan B - it kind of worked! This is what we did. She rode on her battery powered jeep at high speed and I ran behind. This did work well, since I don’t run that fast. She had fun, because she was working out with Mommy. We only went once around the neighbor instead of the 2-3 I try do on a Saturnday. When we got back to the house, she did a few sprints back and forth our yard….she has a race to train for too. :)

5 down…

5 lbs down, only ??? to go! I wish it would come off faster, but I know that’s not healthy and I’d probably gain it all back anyway. I didn’t gain all this weight overnight…it’s taken a while. It’s a great feeling to see the scale down; if only a pound at a time.

My First 5k

I did it. I picked an event for my very first 5k. I’m so excited. My sister is going to run it with me.

It’s a women’s only race along the Chicago lakefront. You can enter as an individual or part of a mother-daughter or sister team. I think we’re going to run as a team.

I am going to work on my husband to come along and bring our 5 year old. I would love for her to run in the kids race later in the morning. This will be a great beginning to a healthy lifestyle for her.

And it would great to have someone waiting for me and sis at the finish line!

It was a nice cool, sunny morning. I love getting up early to enjoy the quiet. All you can hear are the birds. Although, this morning there were a few news helicopers in the area. I’ll have to put the news on see what’s happening.

You are what you eat

The more I run, the more I realize what I eat the night before a run effects my performance. I had a decent dinner last night….grilled chicken, grilled potatoes, and corn on the cobb. But it was dessert that did me in. I don’t normally eat dessert, but it was Father’s Day so we decided to go to Oberweis for ice cream. OMG…it was a wonderful treat, but man…I felt like I was dragging this morning.

On the up side it does make me more aware of what I eat and when. I’ve given up pizza on Friday nights, since I like to run Saturday morning. Now, I haven’t given up pizza all together…I just plan a head and will either eat it for lunch or the night before an off morning.
