3 days in a row…

My goal today was to run 30 minutes.  An added bonus was to keep the same pace.  I did both…good for me!

I am taking Tuesday as a rest day.  I have a lot of errands to do; plus it’s counterclockwise day at the track.

I was thinking of doing a 5k on Friday - New Years Day.  I thought it would be a great way to start the new year.  I found one; but I’m wimping out.  The high is supposed to 15-20 degrees.  Burrrr….and that’s before the windchill.  I think I’ll run at the track instead.

Wow - 2 days in a row

I wore my new Christmas compression shorts today.  They must work…I took 2 minutes off my 2 mile time from yesterday…LOL.

The run felt better today…I really think it’s the direction of the track.  Yesterday was counterclockwise…I’m usually slower going in that direction.  It could be in my head, but it doesn’t feel right.

We bought my dad a membership to the neighborhood gym.  I’m hoping we can met there 1-2 times a week.  It would be nice to have someone to met there.

Back on track

I’m off work until next year… I love saying it that way…makes it sound so much longer than, I’m off for the next week.

I’m going to use this week off to get back on the workout track.  I’ve been slacking the last several weeks….vacation, health (couple of colds), work, home, holidays…the list goes on.

22 weeks from today is the Solider Field 10 mile race; and I can’t remember the last time I ran more than 30 minutes.  That is my goal while I’m off…run 30 minutes at least twice this week.  I know it doesn’t sound like much, but I need to start somewhere.

Today’s run was a little slow, but I ran.  Time for day 3 of 3 of Christmas.  I’m looking forward to tomorrow and doing nothing…or at least nothing holiday related.  I’m going to be on family overload after spending today with the inlaws…wish me luck.

Cruise Fun Run

We stopped at the cruise line’s private island Friday morning.  They offered a 5k fun run.  A few us in our group decided to work off all the great food we’ve eaten all week.  It was hot…I ran slow, but had fun.  It’s been a while since I ran in 80+ degree weather…and boy was it great!  We returned home Saturday to 25 degrees; and today, Monday, we woke up to 1-2″ of snow with more on the way tomorrow.  Ugh!
