Walk

I wasn’t feeling the run today.  I walked 2 miles on the track.  A few laps were with my dad.  He finished on the bike and joined me for 10 minutes.

Me Day

I took today off for some “me” time.  I was great to be able to do what I wanted; and not worry if anyone else was having a good time.  LOL

I dropped the girlie off at school and headed to the gym.  I’ve been a slacker this week, but did an ok 2 miles.  I decided to go to one of the nearby towns to shop.  It has a cute downtown area with unique shops.  Picked up the girlie and splurged with pizza for dinner.  Overall, it was a good day.

I ate what?

I can’t believe what I ate today.  I’m too embarrassed to tell you all here.  Let’s just say, I feel awful.  I did log it all.  Gross.

Tomorrow is another day and I will do better.  No trips the cafeteria or stops at the vending machine or take out for dinner.  Tomorrow I will have a better plan and I will stick to it.

Walk with hubby

Girlie had a birthday party at the neighborhood rec center where the fitness center is as well.  The hubby and I dropped her off and ran to the running shoe store for new kicks for him.  We headed back to rec center to workout.  We walked then went to the fitness room for some general cardio.

slow and steady

I wasn’t feeling the love of the shoes today.  At one point my left foot was tingly.  Maybe my shoe was tied too tight?

I increased my time today.  I was starting to drag when my ipod played Eye of the Tiger!  I ran around the track like I was Rocky.  LOL  Nothing like a well placed song to get you over the hump.

5 minute warm up and cool down walk - will post separate.

8:1 x 5 run/walk combo - this seemed like a good ratio.

New shoes… <3

I don’t just heart these shoes…I love them!  I stuck to the outside of the track and wore my new shoes.  Guess what?  My hip didn’t hurt.  Whoo hoo.

The 8:1 combo is working for me.  I think I’m going to try to add another combo on Wednesday.

warm up/cool down

I lumped the warm up and cool down for all 6 training runs here.

5 minutes warm up walk = 6 laps…good power walk

5 minutes cool down walk = 5 laps…I’m a little slower at the end.  Slowly bringing my heart rate down.

I will log these individually from now on when I log the run/walk portion.

I wasn’t going to log these, but decided I did the time and miles, so I should give myself the credit.  It all counts.

I <3 new shoes

I took a good look at the bottom of my shoes.  Oh, boy…they were almost bald.  There is no tread on the outside toes.  I brought them with me to the running store.  I really love these shoes.  They have been the most comfortable shoes I’ve had.  The store had the same model…and on sale!

I can’t wait to wear them.  I’m hoping to walk tomorrow…rest my hip until Monday evening.
