Walk with girlie and dog

The weather has been fabulous for this time of year in the midwest…50s.  And with the time change there was not excuse not to take advantage of it.  You never know when it’ll turn and snow again.

The girlie and I took the dog for a quick walk around the block while we waited for the hubby to get home.  They had a date tonight to go the police station’s open house.  I am enjoying “quiet mommy time”.

Felt better today…a little crampy, but not like yesterday.  The walk helped as well.

Sunday morning at the gym

The usual trip to the gym after dropping the girlie off at Sunday School.  The track was a little crowded and I was feeling a little tired.  I did a run/walk combo…5 laps of walking then 5 laps of running until I went 2 miles.  There was more walking than running, so I’m listing this as a walk.

Late start…

….is better than nothing.  I have discovered (the hard way), the girlie doesn’t do well if we’re at gym after 7:45pm.  She gets too wound up from seeing her friends in the child care center if we’re there later.  So I keep my workout short.  The fitness room was crowded, so I hit the track.  I was going to run, but decided to walk with hand weights.

I wasn’t feeling the run today.  I walked 2 miles on the track.  A few laps were with my dad.  He finished on the bike and joined me for 10 minutes.

Walk with hubby

Girlie had a birthday party at the neighborhood rec center where the fitness center is as well.  The hubby and I dropped her off and ran to the running shoe store for new kicks for him.  We headed back to rec center to workout.  We walked then went to the fitness room for some general cardio.

I lumped the warm up and cool down for all 6 training runs here.

5 minutes warm up walk = 6 laps…good power walk

5 minutes cool down walk = 5 laps…I’m a little slower at the end.  Slowly bringing my heart rate down.

I will log these individually from now on when I log the run/walk portion.

I wasn’t going to log these, but decided I did the time and miles, so I should give myself the credit.  It all counts.
